Hiroshi Akamine
Third President
(18
October 1954)
Hiroshi Akamine is the 4th son of Dai Sensei Eisuke Akamine and Shizuko Akamine. He was born in Kakazu, Tomigusuku Village and was a rebel at school as the story goes. His mother lovingly tells about a broken arm when the young Hiroshi decided to do back flips from the roof of their old home. It ended in a rush to hospital for the young boy and this is only one of the many tails of mischief. Another one that comes to mind is a mother standing at the front door to see a teenage Hiroshi off to go and run an errand. A suspicious bag was in his possession and on investigation his mother found he had his do-gi in it. After careful questioning the plan was revealed. He was on his way to visit a new Karate school around the corner. Obvious to a mother that knows, the plan was to go and test the students. Such was the boy that turned into the 3 rd President of our Association. A Budo-ka of top quality and repute. He is also an outstanding person in the community being a senior fire officer.
He started training under his father in 1960 as a child at the age of 6 years. 8 years later he studied
Tinbé (Halberd and Shield) Kata under Shinken Taira Sensei, the 1st President of Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai.
In 1970, his father sent him to study Karate under the late Shijin Gushiken (1944 - 1994)
