Perry
Campbell began studying Goju Ryu karate in 1977 in the tiny village of
Whitefish Falls in Northern Ontario under Israel Segarra - The Yogi Man.
While studying geology in college, he boxed amateur for three years
(80-83), then studied jujitsu in Richmond Hill under Steve Reynolds for
a period of one year.
Throughout, Perry continued his study of Goju Ryu Karate under The Yogi
Man. Then in 1986, he began studying Okinawan Goju Ryu in the Meibukan
lineage. In 1988 Perry travelled to Okinawa and in moved there for a
period of one year. During that time Perry had the privilege of being
taught by Yagi Meitoku twice each day, as well training under Yagi
sensei's two sons, Meitatsu and Meitetsu and Yagi Dai Sensei's then Dai
Sempai, Senaha Shigetoshi.
In 1990, Perry began studying Ryukyu Kobudo under Akamine Eisuke, Dai
Sensei in the Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai
He presently holds the rank of 4th Dan, Canada Shibu in the Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai.
6th Dan, Renshi, Shihan Menkyo in Senaha's, Ryusyokai and a and 5th Dan,
Renshi under Segarra sensei. He teaches Ryukyu Kobudo and Goju Ryu.
