In Memory
of
Sensei Shigeo Izumi (1942
-2003)

Izumi Sensei, Vice president of Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai, Head of Okinawa-Shi Branch Dojo passed away last Friday the 27th of June 2003. Izumi Sensei was one of the old school Budo-ka, practicing Kobudo and Karate with dedication and from the heart. His efforts to promote the teachings of the Late Dai Sensei Eisuke Akamine will surely be missed. His place at the front of his Dojo and at the Kai’s Testing Table will be felt for a long time. His kind words of encouragement when techniques go wrong was always soft and help full. He will be greatly missed by all, a great loss. Condolences to his wife and family from all.

Internationally, Izumi Sensei was very influential in spreading Kobudo to Switzerland as well as Oki Ku Kai Karate. He was key in working with Dell helping him immensely in his journey in Budo.
