Dojo Overview

Dojo Locations and Additional Information are to be found on these pages.  Select a country for local Dojo

This page list only Dojo that are officially registered with this association and recognized by the Head Quarters, Okinawa, Japan.

As years progressed students sometimes came to a point where they decided to follow different routes. Some of these practitioners created their own associations based on the same teachings as our instructors and have their own following. These practitioners developed their Dojo and concepts of how the techniques should be practiced.  Over time their associations may have grown in size with some, well established internationally. Some have even adopted similar names or the same as Ryukyu Kobudo Hozon Shinko Kai

Although these associations or organizations are practicing similar Kata and use the same building blocks laid down by men like Dai Sensei Eisuke Akamine, Dai Sensei Taira Shinken and older Okinawan Martial Artists, they are not members of this association. If you belong to an organization claiming to be part of this association and are not reflected in these pages, then it is likely that you may not be a member. There are Martial Artists that use to belong to this association at some time but have gone their own way. If they were graded by this association they do not loose their grading but cannot issue any certificates on behalf of this association. All grading must be registered at the Association's Headquarters to be valid and accepted.  This is done by registering the certificate in the association registry, a seal at the top of the certificate such that half of the seal is in the book and the other half is on the certificate.

Student under 3rd Dan are eligible not eligible for instructor’s or Dojo License in this association. There are other methods in place, like the Dokokai system to allow junior students, not resident near an official Dojo to practice under protection of a registered Dojo. These Dokokai cannot issue any grading as only an Official Certified Instructor can do.

If you have doubts about your status, kindly sign our guest book with the information you need and we’ll pass it on to the appropriate person in our association to deal with the query. We hope to add a database in future reflecting 30 or more years of information on graded Martial artist.

Addresses, telephone numbers are with permission only. No e-mail address will be published in an attempt to curb spamming.  We are expanding and updating information on Dojo and their Instructors constantly.
